How to paddle

W hold: the meter fills. Let go in the green for a full-power stroke. Let go anywhere else and you still paddle, just weakly.
The meter can't fill while your blade is still in the water, so find a rhythm: hold, let go, hold…
A stroke on the left turns the raft right. A stroke on the right turns it left. Both together go straight and fast.
To turn, one of you paddles and the other waits. Talk to each other.
Rocks and banks bounce you around and cost you speed. Hit a rock too hard and you can fall out: WASD swim back to the raft, Space climbs in.
At the waterfall, hold Space to hang on as you go over, or you'll be thrown out. You can't paddle while you're holding on.
Partner messing up? F bonks them with your paddle: they're dazed and can't paddle for half a second (and you can't for a moment either). Player 2 on one keyboard uses /.
In Sandstone Gorge a bear guards the left bank. Keep to the right side of the river: if it grabs your raft, mash E until it lets go.
In Amazon Rapids an anaconda lies coiled on the right bank. If it wraps up your raft, mash E until it lets go.
First raft across the finish line, with its whole crew aboard, wins.
